I dont understand why the old school is worried about the new school journalist. I believe will do just fine, maybe better than them. I mean like we learned from them which is the best so that will just make us even better. No need to worry, they will keep up the good work.

I believe that a student journalist really does deserve the same rights as a professional journalist. Like for example: Like if you are going to perform a professional interview, why shouldnt you be treated and respected like a professional journalist? I really dont like when someone in higher ranking or just a plain adult person, to treat a student with less respect then he would do a professional. Respect is earned and I dont care if you are a baby, if you are showing respect then you should get respect back no questions ask and I agree with Aja no where in the video did the student journalist disrespect the Senator. So I am mad that the Senator didnt give the student any respect at all.

I believe that a student journalist deserves the same rights as a professional journalist. If you are going to conduct a professional interview, why shouldn't you be treated as a professional  journalist ? I find it very disrespectful, for someone of an older age , to treat a student with less respect then he would a professional. Respect is due were respect is earned, and no where in that video, did the student journalist disrespect the senator. On the Senator's part, he made a perception to me , and others, that he is unprofessional himself.

This video definitely gave a good reason for student journalists to have the same rights as professional journalists. What's the harm in doing that? Students can get the same job done and can even be more efficient. As you can see in the video, the student journalist makes the senator leave. He was asking all the right questions and even made the senator, a grown man who is wiser, feel uncomfortable. That is what real journalists do. They ask good questions, give facts, and give accurate sources to back them up.  As long as you're a real journalist, you deserve professional journalist rights.

The video was very interesting due to the fact that I never seen such a young person asks such intimidating questions to an adult of higher power to the point where he just ups and leaves. I think this is great it shows even though you may be young, you can still be aware of what is going on in the world and can have your thoughts seen and heard.

Of course student journalists should have the same rights as professional journalists; I don’t see any difference but the age differential. Nobody can tell by the appearance of a person if they are smart; therefore how can anyone say a student can’t have the same rights as professional journalists I’m sure some students (as shown in the video presented) can do a very good job and being a journalist possibly even better than some professional journalists.

I do believe that student journalist should have the exact same rights & guidelines as a professional journalist because journalism is a very professional job with detailed and strict requirements. There is only one way to handle an interview, and that is professionally. After this video of the student journalism interviewing the state senator, i absolutely believe that whether student or professional journalist, they should have the same rights. The student did a fantastic job interviewing and asking approbate question and getting his point across in a professional way, he is doing a good job and you can tell he's had practice on how to interview someone.

I feel as though there should be certain limitations pertaining to student journalist. Professional journalist have received degrees or have went to college for internships. It is appropriate to say student journalist should shadow or possibly participate in internships in order to receive the proper experience. The video was very interesting. The young man was very educated and knew his stuff. Students journalists should be able to receive the rights of professional journalists depending on their abilities. They should receive experience to compete with people on a higher level than they are. Yes, older people are wiser, but the media and it's audience like to keep things fresh and updated. Having a new, fresh, and young minded journalist may be a great look for any political or social news.

As a future journalism major college student, I feel as though it would be unfair to a professional journalist whom has had the education and received a degree in journalism. Being a student, I think it would be okay to receive internships, having a full time job without the degree could become either controversial, or a bit overwhelming to my schedule. While watching CNN on a Saturday evening, I received the news that Whitney Houston had just passed in a Beverly Hills Hotel room. At first I saw it earlier on Twitter, but I didn't believe it being that this social networking site in particular creates a lot of its own celebrity deaths. But after seeing the actual picture of her body being carried out of the hotel I then believed that her death was not false. Later on that night, Her daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown had been rushed to the hospital due to an anxiety attack. Also earlier that morning the was rushed to the hospital for the same cause. CNN has been very informative with the follow ups on her death.

Saturday night, I briefly watched the news regarding Whitney Houston's death. Including in the segment, the broadcast team worked swiftly to gather her high and low points in her career. Included on Channel 2 Action News was also a weather report pertaining to the arctic blast storm. From their, they talked about local problems and also talked about education. The way news programs are setup, they briefly touch the larger problems, address the smaller issues, then talk about the larger problems again. They also try and include something that is positive so everything does not seem so negative.

i hate tv with a passion and i think its a strong waste of time and talent it is very disturbing i wish it would stop with its brain washing ways full of violence and media sent by the puppets of the government. It is a not my type of thing but im not saying because i hate it everyone else should but to me it will always Be a waste.

While Philip and Vivian go on a trip to Palm Springs in Mr. Furth's helicopter, Will and Carlton drive Furth's car there as well. They get pulled over for "stealing" the car. They gave weather reports, and then with the most honorable topic that would gain an majority of views was on Whitney. They talked about her awards, and ect. Then they played a couple of her songs and pics were shown throughout. They even had an interview with New Edition to see if Bobby was OK, knowing that that was his ex wife. The 2012 Grammy's was such a talked about and anticipated awards show because of the depth and meaning of winning a Grammy or even being nominated for one. The people in the best Best Rap performance was Nicki Minaj, Wiz Khalifa, Jay-Z & Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, and Busta Rhymes. Jay-Z & Kanye West won the award for their song "Otis." I saw Chris Brown perform and it was okay, I thought he did better last year. The fashions at Grammy's were not really that great to me, but I liked Adele's look the best along with Nicki Minaj's. I enjoyed it but Beyonce or Jay-Z wasn't there so I wasn't really into it like i would if they were there.

Death of Pop Star

I was watching channel 2 action news and discovered that the shocking death of R&B, Pop, and Soul legend Whitney Houston. The headline said "Whitney Houston Dead at 48". As they released information about what they are finding out about her death, channel 2 action news revealed the information that she died in a bathtub at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California. They said that she died because she fell asleep in the tub but they don't know the actual cause of death just yet. I feel terrible about the death of this sing pop star and her legacy will live on forever.

For my assignment I watched CNN news network. One of the major topics was the Grammy Award show. Host LL Cool J opened the show in a beautifully sculpted prayer in the loving memory of the recently deceased artist Whitney Houston. She passed the day before the award show, so many people shared there love for her and her and her family. They showed clips of the prayer from the award show and had different people speak on the topic.

I watched the news and I saw the story about the gay dude that got beat up in atlanta. I don't think they they should have beat him up but he was in a area where gay people were really disliked. The jack city gang attacked him because they hate gays. I think gay people should stay out of the area so they do not get beat up and someone losses a life.

While I was in the barbershop on Friday, they had the TV on Entertainment Tonight. During the show, they showed the best and worst outfits in the past Grammy's. They also had a section where they interviewed Ray J, and was asking him questions about Kim Kardashian. Ironically, they also questioned him about his relationship with Whitney Houston, who died later that weekend.The last segment of the show i watched was about stalkers in Hollywood. One of the stalkers claimed that if they ever see Halle Berry, they will slit her throat. It was a very interesting show.

I was watching the voice the other day and i enjoyed it. They had celebrity guest as the judges such as Cee-low green and Christina Agulara. Their backs were turned toward the singers, so they couldn't see them they were getting judged by their voices.

I watched the news and saw the death of pop star whitney houstan. Thats a sad story. Someone so young and so great had to go.... Her music has inspired a lot of artist today. She is a legend of her time and will be greatly missed.

She is one the woman who had amazing talent and she had died at a very young age, and I am very sad about her daughter that she had left behind and what she has to go though now at the age of 18 which she had to go to the hospital for the fact that her mother jsut died and she didnt even get to say "GoodBye" to her mother and that is the news that I watch this weekend.

I was on twitter, reading people's statuses. Then all of a sudden I see a "R.I.P Whitney Houston"

I immediately turned on the tv , and clicked on the news. The bottom banner was sliding across the green , with the dreadful words of "Whitney Houston Dead, at the age of 48"

I continued to listen to the news, and they were speaking upon her unknown death, and how she was found in the bath tub.

My heart immediately dropped, for a person with talent, a young black woman, has left us. 

I was not a fan of Whitney Houston, but she created songs that I could never forget due to the repetition of her music played in my hose.

I was watching Fox 5 and they had a special segment for Whitney Houston's death. They do the sports segment where they add the sports castor the anchors table. 

This weekend I decided to tune in to ESPN as my news television show to watch to do my blog about.  I noticed that everything is planned and it must flow so that viewers will stay tuned into the show.  All banners on the show match and are the show's logo.  The news has to be relevant and the topic must be about something that people will care about otherwise viewers will not stay tuned in.

I watched Fox news recently and was shocked to find out about the death of Whitney Houston and also about a resent rescue of a 5 year old girl who was almost killed during an avalanche.

I always watch Fashion Police on E .I enjoy watching it because Joan Rivers is a very entertaining person.The rest of the pannel are experts in Fashion & funny as well.They critique celebrities outfits very well & give good as well as positive feedback for them.As a fashion lover I can see my self criticizing the outfits as well as them in the near future.

I watched Channel 2 News. I didn't really catch much of it because I don't like watching the news, but the part I did see talked about the weather. They also talked about a wrestling match, where some kid did a back flip. They showed a clip of that. That played the clip about two times in slow motion to make sure everyone could see how "awesome" the move was.

Today on Comedy Central I watch comedian Tosh.O. New Episodes comes on Tuesday night at 10 pm. This show 30 minutes show consists of videos off the web that people have posted of them-selves or other people doing something really bizarre and Tosh makes jokes about on his show. This week episode is on web redemption for a guy on ladder and an arm-wrestling. Through out this show he plays several videos. The first video is" Road Hill" when a bunch of girls are in the back of a pick-up truck and the driver goes over a speed bump, and while he does that some of the girls that were standing fall out of the truck. Then it leads to a guy w/ a huge tongue while Tosh makes hilarious jokes on. Its ridiculous how funny Tosh is. This is a show were there is none stop laughing.  :))))

The sports segment I decided to tune into this week was a NBA pregame news broadcast. This broadcast consisted of former NBA stars that discussed current NBA player attributes, their current standings, and their opinion on the game/league today. What I found most interesting was the structure of the broadcast that consisted of both formal and casual attitudes that provided both news and entertainment at the same time.

Fox 5 News & Dateline NBC of Sunday evening.

I decided to watch the local news channel for this blog, so I chose Fox 5 on Sunday evening. Like any other news & radio broadcast show's focus lately, the main topic was on the shocking death of R&B, Pop, and Soul legend Whitney Houston. The headline said "Whitney Houston Dead at 48". As they went into the information about what they are finding out about her death, FOX 5 received the information that she died in a bathtub at a hotel in Los Angeles. They said that she apparently "fell asleep", although they don't know the cause of death just yet. They also released the name of the drug that she apparently was taking. I actually found this news broadcast very interesting because they had included a snippet of Frank Ski's interview on his show this morning, and used it for this story. So not only was it a news broadcast on TV, but they showed Frank Ski & Wanda's V103 radio show. They also talked about Jenifer Hudson and some others doing a tribute for her on the Grammy's.

I also watched Dateline NBC's story on Whitney Houston also, which went into a more detailed outline of her life & her story leading up to her tragic death that happened yesterday. It was entitled "Remembering Whitney: A Dateline Special". I favored this TV news broadcast better than Fox 5 because they of course had to keep it simple. I learned a lot about Whitney Houston herself, because this was an actually hour long story about her. I didn't know that she sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in 1991. It included A LOT of her songs too (music playing in the background & also her videos), so it kept my attention while I was jotting down information for this blog. It had interviews from other people that were close to her, such as Toure' & Bobby Brown and also interviews from her when she was alive. It was very touching. Then they had reactions, words, and interviews and words from Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, L.A. Reid, Joe Levy, Kim Burrell and Kelly Price. New Hope Baptist Church in New Jersey, which was her church back home paid a tribute for her as well as many in Los Angeles, where she passed away. Dateline actually got to interview her childhood friends back home, East Orange. They had the video of her last interview in November, and a strange trip to the "Holy Land", where she got baptized in the Jordan River. But for her last interview she was in Detroit shooting her film Sparkle, which was a remake. It was so touching. Well, i'm about to watch the rest of the story now. Bye. :)

First 48.

Right now I am watching First 48 on demand. On this episode there is a missing couple and they have been missing for weeks. So they go next door with a search warrant and notices that no one is there. While they were there, they notice a distinct smell. One of the officers said it smelled like bodies. So they put on protective gear to search the house so they wont damage any evidence. They go up stairs into the addict and break down some walls and stuff and there you go. The missing couple was found in the addict. The guy that did it ran away to Mississippi and just as the cops were tracking him down in a vehicle as he was trying to get away, his dad shot him in the head and then his dad shot himself. One of the craziest episodes I have seen of First 48.

As I'm watching Disney channel A.N.T farm is on. I don't really like this show it's corny to me.

Earlier today I watched the Celtics Bulls game and during the half time report, they covered the accolades of Kobe Bryant (becoming the 5th all-time scorer) as well as Paul Pierce (becoming 2nd in most point scored for the Celtics).  They then discuss Kobe's performance in a prior game and also Rajon Rondo's performance up to the half.  The report also covered the road tour of the Lakers as well as the Bulls.

I see how they delivers the latest breaking news and information on the latest top stories, weather, business, entertainment, politics and stuff. And the most hurtful news tribute to Whitney Houston to her death, that kind shock the world. How they went in-dept on what happen. How they get news all over the world like Lawmakers in Greece voted to approve another round of austerity measures sought in return for a new eurozone bailout of the debt-stricken country, that have noting to do with u.s. news make you up to data on things around us.

I watched CNN today and this news show delivers the latest breaking news and information on the latest top stories, weather, business, entertainment, politics. I was informed on Whitney Houston's death and how the whole nation was shocked. She was found dead Saturday at a Beverly Hills, California, hotel, officials said. She was 48. They showed how fans still loved her songs and was very surprised of her death. Alot of people talked about how they grew up listening to her and how she will be greatly missed.

Right now I'm watching ABC. It's halftime and the commentators are talking about Rondo's performance in the 1st half. They a play a few replays to show how he manage to slip past the defense and easily score. Then they discuss Kobe Bryant's performance in his game against the Raptors. He managed to put up 2 more points with 7 seconds to spare but the Raptors failed to score.

This week I watched Entertainment Tonight . The show is always filled with informative and exciting news. They have very trendy topics like; "Best Dressed for Grammy's, ET Birthdays, etc. The news is always correct and never bias in my opinion. The two host of the show are lively and keep the show and news more than what it is. The vibe of a male, female combination of hosts, keeps both sides waiting to watch the show.

News story on Whitney Houston

Yesterday I watched CNN after I got the news that Whitney Houston died. It was the Piers Morgan show at night and it wasn't the typical 6 o'clock news show that I was used to. He was talking about the story as information was pending so it was kind of more exciting. They were showing a recent or last Whitney Houston appearance which made it harder to believe she was not here any more. It sounded like he was reading from a computer or phone because he did say someone was doing something from their blackberry.

I watched CBSNEWS this afternoon and they discussed Whitney Houston's daughter being rushed to the hospital, Mitt Romney won Maine, and how singer, Adele sang for Anderson Cooper. Anchor ,Scott Pelley, was discussing the presidential campaign and I saw the CBS News bug at the bottom. I also knew what to where for the afternoon by tuning in to the weather, also.

This week I watched NBATV which tells you everything thats going on in the professional league of basketball. When I was watching they were talking about a young kid by the name of Jeremy Lin who plays for the New York Knicks on a come up he has gotten his fame by leading his team to five straight wins

I love entertainment tonight because it has all the latest everything. It has updated information, current interviews and its hosts are always entertaining. All of their information is legit, and they do not give out any false information. The show always keeps you interested and it is also time wise.

NFL Total Access

I enjoy this show because its informative like channels such as Channel Two Action News, but it talks ONLY about football, which personally is my favorite and I watch it non stop, year in and year out and the bar at the bottom of the show gives updates and other topics, such as  ESPN and other sports. It gives you the best source for football and it stays up to date with information about my team and all other NFL teams.

i have chosen to create a blog on cnn because its one of my favorite shows(news). i has become of my interest because it keeps me caught up on what takes place in not only the u.s. but international events as well.
an interview that i found interesting would have to be the seven year old in walmart. i believe she was very brave for sticking up for her self and fighting, while on the edge of being kidnapped. it was a remarkable story for her to speak out on, i feel it will give many others courage if put in same situation

My favorite news show happens to be fox 5 news. I like this show because it is very informative to the latest news in atlanta from the economy, weather, and action around the city. Fox 5 news is not very entertaining but it keeps u updated.!

My favorite show to catch Monday through Friday is “Pardon the Interruption” (PTI). This is a sports news talk show that covers the world of sports in a debated discussion between two hosts Tony Kornheiser and Micheal Wilbon. The show takes sports new to another level due to the fact they create visuals such as pictures and videos also props to grab your attention to keep you entertain. The show takes different approaches as it can be serious, humorous, entertaining and also informing. Guests on the show are usually athletes, coaches, hall of famers, celebrities, and other individuals in world of sports.

I watch Channel 2 Action News everyday and i like them best because of the way they present themselves and they seem to have the best facts and give them to the audience quickly and correctly; when they news that they tell us is false they always update us about it and tell us whats really going on.

My favorite news show is sportscenter and while i was watching it they was talking about if Dwight Howard will get traded to a different team before the All-Star break. It was an interesting topic which went back and forth between the analysts.

Sooooo I just love watching E! e! has all the qualities I look for in good television. It has fashion, celebrities, and drama! When watching television I look for things that draw my interest which include, style, gossip, and hot trends. Since I prefer watching shows like Keeping up with Kardashians, and fashion police, i'd say E! is all of that combined.

Favorite News Show

My Favorite news show happens to be Good Day Atlanta. I like this particular news show because it is interesting and exciting. Waking up in the morning for me can kind of be hard, but Good Day Atlanta's intro music seems to get me going. Not only does it get me going but it provides me with my weekly forecast and most importantly my weekly news. On this episode of Good Day Atlanta they talked about the guy who attempted to kid nap a young girl from the Walmart in Avondale, less than three months from being released from prison for murder.

Also, they play songs that target the young audience like myself. They play urban music from the present. Also go back in the day when my parents were younger. I like that music because it makes me feel all good. Me personally think the old school music is better becase it came from the heart. But hey who a I?

Favorite radio station

My favorite radio is V-103 with Frank Ski and Wanda, Ryan Cameron, and Elle Duncan. I listen to it every morning on my way to school and sometimes later in the evening. Frank and Wanda not only play the hottest new music, but they discuss upcoming events and issues going around the area and in society as a whole. I am always updated on what is going on and I also love music which is a plus. At night, they play "the quiet storm" which includes slow and soothing music, which helps me go to sleep.

I listen to the frank ski and wanda morning show every morning on the way to school.  The radio broadcasters keeps us interested with the latest gossip , upcoming events and drama circulating in hollywood. It also informs us with news about the black community. They keep listeners interested at all times.

Makyla Jackson Radio station

I love too start my day off with v103 in the mornings. i love how their topics of discussion vary from politics to entertainment to the economy and the latest news. V103 plays great music and always leaves their viewers laughing or smiling. Also on the steve harvey morning show i love their different segments like nephew tommy's frequent prank calls and their sports predictions. I believe both of these radio stations have excelled in catching the attention of viewers in every way.

I Like Listening to this show because the play good song by artist i like & when they play radio edited songs it dont sound stupid like the radio edited version  of a song like V.103. Also ET & Jnix are very entertaining to me and make me laugh.

I usually do not listen to the radio. I would rather listen to my own music rather than listen to people constantly talk on the radio. But because of this assignment i did. I liked how they keep me interested by talking about current interesting topics and still incorporated music. I would incorporate their same ideas. Keeping my talking limited but interesting and putting in current music.

this week everyday on my way to school i would listen the the rickey smiley morning show. i like it because it is funny and catchy. bruh, i swear i was singing that annoying "wake- up" song all day. to my self while i was doin chores...i sung that junk so much that i ran out of places to wake up so i started sayin all of my family members names instead of cities. that song as too catchy. sometimes i even recite his jokes in my head and find myself laphing out loud in like a post office or library.

I like the music they play on here. Their stories are sometimes amusing. I like their delivery with jokes and whatever. I will incorporate good music and other stuff into my own show.

I love v103. They have the best music, and entertainment then most of the radio stations I listen to. The inspiration music on sunday mornings start my day off great on my way to church. The jokes they bring make me laugh. The time they use for each segment is perfect, and gives us a chance to get interested, so when the song or commercial goes off were ready to hear more.

Every morning when i wake up my alarm clock at 6:00 am wakes me up by playing V103.  I  enjoy listening to Frank and Wanda Show. The provide a variety of interest. Their topics and conversation never are boring. They manage to balance between music, talking, and advertising. They are very interactive with their listeners. Their music is very up to date. I also love listening to V103's Quiet Storm at night. Very soothing and puts me right to sleep.

Personally, I Like 107.9 and 103.3, and also Steve Harvey's radio station, because when there is no music playing, I enjoy listening to the talk shows like Steve Harvey and listening to the drama and other stuff people talk about, and I enjoy listening to people being let go and people getting caught cheating on others. I like the style of music they play on all of those types of radios, I don't listen to the other radio stations except for that.

Frank and Wanda morning show comes on air at 6am-10am on weekdays. The shows started with their theme songs every morning that leads into a song. The shows begins with the highlights of the day which included what they will be discuss on the air today and then later they accepted callers on to express their opinion on certain discuss.  Frank and Wanda is the only morning shows that offers an excellent "inspiration victims" which is where Frank reads a scriptural from the bible and related it to your life.

Listening to the Radio.

I enjoyed listening to different radio stations during this week because I got a chance to compare and contrast the different aspects of each show. One thing that i noticed is that a lot of time is consumed by commercials and advertisement. Another thing that i noticed is that nothing is really scripted even though they have to plan out how the show is going to proceed. The radio stations that I compared to each other were V103 and Hot 107.9. I was most familiar with these radio stations so therefore it was easier for me to compare. I noticed that these radio shows are NEVER dull and boring. The hosts' were always laughing & talking about something. One thing that i do know about radio stations in general is that even though these people probably started off as strangers & probably share many differences, they always manage to come together & seem happy and lively on air. V103 and Hot 107.9 both keep the listeners entertained & alert. They also have many opportunities where they let their audience (listeners) interact & voice their opinions on certain things. "Free Money Kitty" and "Inspirational Vitamin" for V103 and "Battlegrounds" and "Let GO" for HOT 107.9 are some of the activities that they use to keep their listeners entertained. Overall, radio stations aren't just all about music. There about encouraging one another, listening to on another, voicing opinions, advertising, and much more. For my radio station, I don't want it to be boring. I want people to laugh, cry, be happy, feel the pain of some one else. I want my show to be amazing, deep & all of the above.

The radio station i listened to was Rickey Smiley on Hot 107.9.  What captivates me about the show is the use of colloquial diction as well as humor to keep the viewer entice.  They then build up the anticipation by giving highlights of the upcoming stories later on in the program slot.  There are limited commercials which effects the responsiveness of listeners.

I don't personally care for the radio. The talk sows can be pretty funny

I like the Rickey Smiley Morning Show because it's very funny, entertaining, and informing. Their segments are amusing; they have the Joke of the Day, Wake Up Calls, and The Colour of the Day. You always have something to look forward to because no segment is ever the same. Hot 107.9 always has upbeat music and limited commercials.

I listen Tom Joyner in the Morning show. He gives you all the updates on whats going on around the world. And he gives you a black history fact everyday monday-friday. And he does a new school old school remix. Old artist with new artist.  He also gives his his thoughts on the current economy situation. Its a very good show that you should listen to.

I also listen to V-103 and I liked how they balance their commercials and music. The music choices are different and the commercials are related to real life. When the Frank Ski & Wanda talked about a certain topic, they had amusement and laughter which is I enjoy. Our group is doing a news show, but i will like to have a little laughter in our show to appeal to our audience.

Every morning on the way to school I listen to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show. The show is a combination of funny yet informing. The have different segments like "The Colour of the Day", "Ain't Nobody Saying Nothing"' and The famous Wake Up Calls. The always have so much energy and you never know what to expect so it keeps you listening for more. The variety of different radio personalities creates the perfect setting for the show.

In the morning when I ride with my dad I usually listen to Frank Ski & Wanda. I like listening to it cause they catch people up with everything that's going on. New music what happened on reality shows etc.I also like the dialouge in the morning which wakes you up because their funny.This starts my day off so I can have a productive day and be wide awake.

The morning show that I chose to listen to was the Tom Joyner morning show. The main thing that I enjoyed about his show was the enthusiastic interaction that he had with his co-workers and his audience. The way I would incorporate this to my radio show is to always be interactive and exciting so that my listeners will always be engaged and entertained.

I like listening to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show in the morning while im driving to school. It starts at 6:00AM and I have it already ready to p;ay, its my alarm. Rickey Smiley always imitate other people or  acts like a grandma who is confused. you never know what he may do or say. After a song goes off they cut to gossip and start giving the audience all of the industries DIRT ! then a commercial break , then they have this "Wake Them Up Song" and people make shoutouts.

I listened to V-103 and what i like most about V-103, is that the radio host are ALWAYS etertaining, they speak very clearly, they talk about topics that arent so bland, and they play the right type of music throughout the day. I can take some of these qualities and incoorporate them into arabia's radio show by giving energy whenever we go on air, & make sure that there is always something intersting being talked about on the show.

The main thing I like about Star 94 - 94.1 FM is the diversity in the music choice. most stations tend to target a specific audience but this station tends to branch out to everyone.

Darius's Rickey Smiley Morning Show.

I love listening to the Rickey Smiley Morning Show every morning on my way to school. It starts at 6:00, but I catch it at like 6:55 when i'm in the car. Rickey Smiley and the other people that co-host with him are hilarious and like getting a laugh befor I start my day. First they introduce the show by them talking about what's going to be discussed, then they take song requests and play music. After a song or two they go to a commercial break for about 7 minutes, then comeback with the "Wake Em' Up Song" when people all across the country can call in and shoutout who they want to wake up for the day. After that, it's usually a joke of the day when Rickey says something funny. Next they play a couple more songs, followed by a short commercial break. With a quick introduction of Ms. Gary by Rickey Smiley, Ms. Gary proceeds to talk about the latest celebrity gossip and all other news. I like almost everything about the show; the music, the jokes, and the gossip. I dislike that they have frequent commercials.

This past week, I have listened to Frank and Wanda in the morning and I noticed they have a jingle as well as entusiasm. Since it's early in the morning, they have to have some sort of energy because they have to be able to get the listener's attention. There aren't dj's in the morning, but in the afternoon, the mood of the radio is more up beat because everyone is out from school and work. In order to have an effective radio show, you have to be able to have enthusiasm as well as being able to relate to relate to the common people. They often have commercials and advertisements which fund the radio stations, but also keeps the listener's attention by providing other information that is important to the listeners. Catchy jingles also keep the listeners attention because they have their signature theme.

Tom Joyner has a beautiful radio station which both children and adults can enjoy.

Many times its things like Old School Music which people like adults can enjoy there childhood and early life songs. this station has jokes and also have prices which can keep people listening everyday. they also have topic in which most of the time everybody can be apart of .

Burt Morning Show

In the morning I enjoy listening to the Burt Morning Show because they make it humorous for their listeners as well as informational. They have recent news that always seems to be accurate as well. They talk about issues such as relationships and many other issues that affect the lives of most. This station also plays music in the morning and  I love dancing in the car as I drive! I enjoy myself on the way to school.
Hannah talked about another one of my favorites which are the Frank and Wanda show. I love to listen to their gossip! Asia talked about how the Steve Morning Show does pranks and skits. this is very entertaining to me as well. Keeps me laughing in the car!

Burt Morning Show

During the week in the mornings I like to listen to the Burt Morning Show on 99.7. This particular station is my favorite to listen to because he plays my desired genre of music, which is R&B and soft rock. Burt as well as the other broadcasters in cooperate their personalities into the station, making it easy to relate to and even more fun to listen to. The every that they bring to the show and the vibe that the broadcasters share with each other, such as making jokes and laughing and talking, make the show completely enjoyable. I feel that the Burt Morning Show encourages and influences me to bring quality ideas to my groups radio station, for example things like keeping positive energy, communicating with the audience, playing the hottest and latest music, and most of all playing and displaying funny pics and video clips of the week.

Steve Harvey Show

The main reason why I love the Steve Harvey show is because of the originality and the fun of it. The hosts have different skits and different advice sections that they do. They do prank calls and sometimes even joke with each other on the air. The show will also go to places sometimes and host their show there, allowing the audience to interact with them even more. In our show we could give advice to our audience and maybe have different skits on different days. We could also invite people on the show as guest.

I like the steve harvey morning show. I listen to it every morning.
The Thing i like about the show is there comedy , and impersonation of other voices.
I like the way they enlighten me on celeb gossip and top movie ratings.
I really enjoy the prank calls and how nephew tommy is apart of the show.
I don like how they get off track sometime , but thats only one con i have to say about the show.

I will incorporate this in my show by making sure that the audience is entertained and I am always putting useful, interesting info in there ear.
I will also make sure I will stay focused at all times, to make sure i do not loose the audience

My Radio Experience

I listened to V-103 and I liked how they balanced between commercials and music. The music choice was okay and the commercials we kind of relevant to my life. When the broadcasters/ hosts talked about a specific topic, they had enthusiasm and laughter which is something I enjoy. My group is doing a talk show, so I want to have a lot of enthusiasm and laughter in our show to appeal to the audience based off of what I enjoy.

When listening to the radio this week, i noticed several things. I like listening to the radio because it keeps me informed and up to date on current events while allowing me to listen to the music that i like at the same time. In order for me to be a happy listener, the radio host that I'm listening to must have a pleasant voice that is not too boring but also not annoying. One of my pet peeves about all radio stations is that they play too much commercials. I believe commercials push listeners to lose interest in the radio station and change the channel. This is why i prefer satellite radio over the regular local stations. My radio station will have little commercials, a great host, and music that everyone would like to listen to.

Throughout the week I have listened to multiple radio stations to observe what qualities a radio host must have to make an entertaining station.  I've noticed that a radio host must have charisma and always have a topic to talk about otherwise the station becomes boring so people don't stay tuned in.  Radio host are always talking about what popular and what's not to let their audience have something to listen to.  Radio stations play music based on what time of day it is to control the mood of individuals listening to the station.

I tuned in to GPB Radio (NPR, All Things Considered, etc) - 90.1 FM this afternoon as i was going home. I found this starting to be very informative. I gave me updates on news that i had not even heard about before because i don't watch the news that often. The host of the show sounds very professional. He also sounded like he has much knowledge of the information going on in the world right now.

 in the morning i dont really feel like listening to radio in the morning but in the afternoon i love it because I am energetic so that the reason why i listen to the music in the afternoon better than I do in the morning time.But,Im not going to lie I do listen to the radio at night and in the morning but I didnt know that their was alot of attributes to the radio station I like to listen to in the morning. I believe listening to the radio station will help my radio station at school because it will keep my ideas refresh and also keep style for me and keep my show great and better than everyone else.

Listening to the radio both in the morning and also at night, I noticed that regardless of the time of day there are certain attributes that I like my radio host to have. I enjoy radio hosts that can speak proper when talking about serious situations but can switch up and be very entertaining and funny without losing his or her character. I think the music played at certain times of the day is very important, for example in the morning I like to hear the radio play calm music because I’m just waking up and I don’t want to be “jumpy”. But in the afternoon I’m energetic so I want the music to be so too. I think the qualities that I enjoy on the radio stations will help me better my own radio station due to the fact I will incorporate what I learned and put my own style on it so the material is fresh and original.
