Listening to the Radio.

I enjoyed listening to different radio stations during this week because I got a chance to compare and contrast the different aspects of each show. One thing that i noticed is that a lot of time is consumed by commercials and advertisement. Another thing that i noticed is that nothing is really scripted even though they have to plan out how the show is going to proceed. The radio stations that I compared to each other were V103 and Hot 107.9. I was most familiar with these radio stations so therefore it was easier for me to compare. I noticed that these radio shows are NEVER dull and boring. The hosts' were always laughing & talking about something. One thing that i do know about radio stations in general is that even though these people probably started off as strangers & probably share many differences, they always manage to come together & seem happy and lively on air. V103 and Hot 107.9 both keep the listeners entertained & alert. They also have many opportunities where they let their audience (listeners) interact & voice their opinions on certain things. "Free Money Kitty" and "Inspirational Vitamin" for V103 and "Battlegrounds" and "Let GO" for HOT 107.9 are some of the activities that they use to keep their listeners entertained. Overall, radio stations aren't just all about music. There about encouraging one another, listening to on another, voicing opinions, advertising, and much more. For my radio station, I don't want it to be boring. I want people to laugh, cry, be happy, feel the pain of some one else. I want my show to be amazing, deep & all of the above.
