Based on the information that I gathered on my career 3 facts that i've learned was...
-Makeup artists earned median hourly wages of $15.12 or a median annual salary of $31,450 in 2009.
-Makeup artists are involved in exciting events and can even get a chance to work in exotic locations on a photo shoot.
-Makeup artists work with fashion models, actors and other performers involved in film, stage or TV productions, brides and other women for special occasions.

I think that the Make up Artist career can be very exciting, simply because i use to want to be one myself. But it seems to me as if they make little to nothing, annually. That's one of the downfalls that i see about this career. And i know that requirements to a successful makeup artist includes a cosmetology license & usually experience. Make up artist tend to be VERY creative.
