Apply for an internship. Although internships aren’t paid opportunities, this is a perfect way to get your foot in the door and build a resume. You’ll likely have to move to a larger city, perhaps Los Angeles or New York. However, an internship gives you hands-on experience in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
Look for employment. Initially, you likely won’t cover huge entertainment events. But once you’ve worked as a reporter for several years and perfected your art, you’ll advance and have the opportunity to make a name for yourself.
